Warriors fall to Bulldogs

Peabody-Burns faced off against Chase County Friday, and both Warriors teams were defeated.

The Warriors girls lost 59-22 to the Bulldogs for their first game of the season.

They were down 22-5 in the first quarter, but made an additional 12 points in the second half to bring the score up to 17-38.

Katy Benson led the Warriors in scoring 16 points for the game.

Warrior boys lose

The Warriors boys may have lost to the Bulldogs 46-26, however, they didn’t lose without putting up a fight.

The Warriors started the game strong, keeping the score within a few points for the first few minutes of the first quarter.

However, the Bulldogs got a 10-point lead on the Warriors, ending the first quarter 18-8.

Scoring an additional 6 points in the second quarter, the Warriors left the court at halftime trailing 22-14.

The Warriors would be outscored 24-12 in the second half.

Top scorers for the Warriors were Austin Reynolds with 8 points, and Clayton Philpott and Chance Elliot both with 5 points.

Both Warriors teams will compete in the Marion Classic Tournament at the Marion High School gymnasium Thursday.
