Both of the Peabody-Burns basketball teams lost their sub-state games against Marais Des Cygnes on Tuesday at Lebo.

Lady Warriors lost 57-46, and the boys lost 73-38.

Boys coach Caleb Good said that while the boys fought hard, Marais Des Cygnes’s offense fought harder.

“We fought really hard, but they had a really good point guard that was able to put up a lot of points,” Good said. “It was just too much to overcome.”

Good said that though the basketball season has ended, he is proud of how his team has handled the season.

“I’m very proud of the guys with their attitudes and efforts,” Good said. “It’s easy to kind of go through the motions but we keep fighting as hard as we can. That’s a lot to be thankful for as a coach.”
