Two groups receive Agco grants

Hillsboro Main Street Ministries food bank and Peabody-Burns school district each will receive grants of about $8,000 from Agco Corporation in Hesston.

The grants come from donations by Agco employees and members of the United Steelworkers Union and are designed to support communities in which employees and union members reside.

Present to accept the award for the school district, Superintendent Ron Traxon said, “The board of education has not yet had a chance to discuss the gift and weigh in on how the money will best be used.”

In all this year, Agco donated $56,000 to eight groups. Aside from the school district, all were food banks.
