Services for Susan Josie Duerksen, 93, who died Monday at Bethesda Home in Goessel, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Tabor Mennonite Church, rural Newton.
Pastor Todd Schlosser will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
Born June 19, 1930, in Newton to Nickolai and Susan (Unruh) Schmidt, she married Walden Duerksen on Oct. 24, 1950.
He died in 2019. Also preceding her in death were brother Otto Nick Schmidt and sisters Julia Regier and Rita Sperry.
Survivors include sons Londell Duerksen and Russell Duerksen of rural Goessel, daughters, Tamara Jost of rural Hillsboro and Kimberly Funk of rural Goessel, sister DeLome Schmidt of rural Newton, 11 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
A memorial has been established with Bethesda Home.
