No matter what your favorite entertainment is, Marion County will have an event for you this summer.

Chingawassa Days and Bluegrass at the Lake are just the first of many events this summer.

On June 25, the Marion Garden Tour offers an opportunity to explore diverse gardens around the community. The tour runs 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. More information is available by calling (620) 382-2442.

In July, Peabody’s 95th annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks display will kick off two days earlier with a community dance July 2, followed by an alumni dance July 3. Events on the fourth will include a car show, flea market, 5K run, kids games, free swimming, sand volleyball and horseshoe tournaments, carnival, food vendors, and a Main Street parade. Also on July 4, the town of Ramona will sponsor Redneck in Ramona. The celebration will include a redneck-themed parade, a redneck run, an obstacle lawn mower race with prizes, and fireworks at dark. More information is at (785) 965-2621.

Aulne will have a belated independence celebration with fireworks July 10 at Aulne United Methodist Church.

Burns plans a hog roast will be held July 16.

July 29 to 31 will usher in Marion County Fair at Hillsboro. More information is at (620) 381-0109.

Country Threshing Days will be Aug. 5 to7 in Goessel. This year’s event will feature prairie tractors and stationary engines. More information is at (620) 367-2229.

Florence’s Labor Day celebration, Sept. 3 to 5, will feature mutton-busting, citywide garage sales, a soapbox derby and a street dance. More information is at (620) 878-4296.

Sept. 17 will offer two events for arts and crafts lovers.

Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Fair is a downtown event featuring booths offering goods created by artists and food vendors. More information is at (620) 947-3506.

The same time, Marion’s annual Art in the Park and Craft Show, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., will offer sales from artists, food vendors, live entertainment, drawings for gift certificates and shuttle bus service from designated parking lots. More information is at (620) 382-3425.

Marion’s Old Settler’s Day on Sept. 24 is a traditional homecoming for people who grew up in Marion. The celebration will feature a parade on Main St. along with food, entertainment and games at Central Park.
