Spa factory expanding with showroom

Staff writer

Aahs Spas is expanding with a new showroom and outdoor living design center in the former Don’s Heating and Air building in Hillsboro.

The project is aimed at keeping more business local while growing his company’s presence in the community, Aahs Spas owner Chuck Maltbie said.

“We want to expand where it’s going to help our community,” he said.

Maltbie, who has operated in Hillsboro since 2019, said the building’s location near his factory made it a natural fit.

The space will provide a dedicated showroom, something the company has not had, with about 40 by 60 feet to display multiple spa models and related products.

In addition to spas and swim spas, the showroom will feature outdoor furniture, turf, grills and other backyard products, giving customers a single place to plan projects.

The site also will support Aahs Spas’ dealer network across seven states by allowing customers to tour the factory then visit the showroom to finalize selections.

He does not intend to duplicate products already offered by other local businesses.

Maltbie sees the project as part of a broader effort to attract new people and investment to the area.

The showroom is expected to open by the end of April, with a goal of being fully operational by Memorial Day weekend.

A ribbon-cutting and promotions are pending.
