Drivers may qualify for reduced car insurance rates by completing a smart driver safety course from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. March 21 and 22 at Burns Community Center.
The class, which will be taught by Richard and Marilyn Riemer, is for all licensed drivers and will meet for two four-hour classes. No actual driving will be required for the course.
Participants are required to attend both four-hour sessions in order to receive a completion certificate to present to insurance companies. Most companies offer some discount for completing a defensive driving course.
The cost is $15 for AARP members or $20 for those who are not.
Those interested in attending can sign up by visiting or calling the Burns Community Center at (620) 726-5511 or by calling the Riemers at (620) 947-3453.
