Robert Sextro

Robert L. “Bob” Sextro, 76, retired Hillsboro High School math teacher of 28 years, passed away Feb. 19, 2016, at his residence, surrounded by his family. 

He was born July 30, 1939, at Marysville, Kansas.  He was the son of Clemens F. and Carrie M. (Larsen) Sextro. 

He received his master’s degree from Kansas State University. 

He was preceded in death by his parents. 

He is survived by his special family:  Jim and Virginia Vanek of Greeley, Colorado; Jimmy Vanek and fiancée Courtney Johnson of Wichita; Sarah Kromer and husband Ryan of Wichita; and several cousins and their families.

Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Hillsboro. 

Funeral service was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro. 

A committal service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marysville City Cemetery in Marysville. 

A memorial fund has been established  for the Robert Sextro Scholarship Fund in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.
