Aug. 7 — A possible suicide attempt was investigated. A welfare check was performed.

Aug. 8 — A runaway teen was located in the 400 block of E. First St. and transported to juvenile intake. Parking complaints on N. Jefferson St. and S. Birch St., dog-at-large complaints on Main and Madison Sts., and a 911 disconnect in the 300 block of N. Birch St. were investigated.

Aug. 9 — A report of a lost or stolen license plate in the 200 block of W. Grand St. was investigated. A dog at large in the 100 block of S. Main St. was investigated.

Aug. 10 — A report of a vehicle in a ditch in the 400 block of N. Adams St. was investigated. Floyd Howe, 76, Hillsboro was arrested on suspicion of driving while suspended, no registration, no proof of insurance, and failure to appear in court. A report of a man trying to force his way into a residence in the 300 block of N. Washington St. after an argument was investigated.

Thursday — A suspicious person in the 300 block of N. Ash St., suspicious vehicle in the 300 block of S. Date St., and suspicious activity in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. were investigated.

Friday — Reports of suspicious activity in the 400 block of S. Main St., a forged check in Hillsboro Heights, a parking complaint in the 400 block of S. Birch St., and a person asking for money in the 100 block of W. Grand St. were investigated. A person sleeping in a vehicle in the 300 block of N. Ash St. was discovered to be a weary traveler who pulled off the highway to rest. A welfare check was performed.

Saturday — A report of a disturbance in the 200 block of W. B St. was investigated, but the address furnished by caller did not exist. A phone harassment complaint in the 400 block of N. Ash St. was investigated. Officers responded to a disturbance in which a person allegedly pushed a homeowner and started an argument in the 200 block of N. Ash St.

Aug. 8 — Five children were taken into protective custody pending investigation. A report of children playing on railroad tracks was investigated. Canine unit responded to Hillsboro for an investigation.

Aug. 9 — Two warnings were issued for speeding on Main St.

Aug. 10 — Possible fraudulent use of a debit card was investigated in the 100 block of Industrial Rd.

Thursday — A report of possible damage to property in the 200 block of E. Main St. was investigated. A warning for no tag light was issued near the US-56/77 roundabout.

Friday — A report of a dog at large in the 100 block of N. Cedar St. and a report of a truck driving through grass in the 900 block of E. Main St. were investigated. During a traffic stop for no tag lights in the 100 block of E. Main St. a passenger was found to have an active warrant.

Saturday — William Thomas, 42, McPherson, was arrested on suspicion of alleged possession of methamphetamines, schedule III narcotics, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia with intent to sell. Officers assisted Hillsboro police in responding to a fight in progress.

August 9 — James Huggins, Wichita, was arrested on a Peabody Municipal Court warrant and charged with failure to appear.

August 10 — Police assisted with a civil situation.

Michael Aycock was arrested after the car he was driving allegedly missed the corner at 6th and Vine Sts. and entered the front yard of an empty dwelling at 612 N. Vine St., striking a tree. Aycock was taken to Marion County Jail on allegations of theft of a motor vehicle, no proof of liability insurance, driving with an illegal tag, leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage, and felony interference with a law enforcement officer.

Sunday — Police did a welfare check on a resident at Indian Guide Terrace.

Monday — Police were called again to Indian Guide Terrace to check on a resident for a second time. The resident was transported by ambulance to a medical facility.
