Hillsboro

Feb. 15 — An illegally parked vehicle and complaint about fire pit were investigated.

Feb. 16 — Traffic enforcement for speeding was performed.

Feb. 17 — A dog-at-large and a pedestrian running on the roadway in the dark were investigated.

Thursday — Three speeding violations and a stop sign violation were enforced.

Friday — Two equipment violations, unauthorized vehicle operator, and one non-injury accident were investigated. Two men were arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance near the city waste lagoons.

Saturday — The discharge of a firearm within city limits was investigated. Traffic enforcement for a stop sign violation was performed.

Sunday — A bicycle theft, report of a domestic disturbance, and barking dog complaint were investigated.

Marion

Feb. 15 — A non-injury accident was investigated in the 300 block of Walnut St.

Feb. 16 — Verbal warnings for speeding and failure to stop at a stop sign were issued.

Feb. 17 — Verbal warnings for parking in a front yard and driving over curb were issued in the 800 block of E. Main St. Verbal warnings for no brake lights and failure to stop at a stop sign were issued. Warnings for left of center and parking left wheels to curb were issued in school zones.

Thursday — A commercial alarm in the 100 block of E. Main St. was investigated. Two dogs-at-large were investigated and their owner was contacted. A verbal warning for a tail lamp out was issued. A non-injury accident was investigated near Marion High School. A motorist who had run out of fuel was assisted.

Friday — A noise complaint in the 300 block of S. Cedar St. was investigated. A verbal warning for speeding near Maple and Cedar Sts. was issued. A non-injury accident was investigated near Eastmoor Dr.

Saturday — A verbal warning for speeding was issued on K-150 at milepost 1. A dog-at-large was taken to Animal Health Center.

Sunday — A non-injury accident in the 600 block of Lawrence St. was investigated.

Peabody

Feb. 16 — Police began an investigation into an incident of cruelty to animals.

Feb. 17 — Officers worked a hit-and-run accident at the corner of Fifth and Elm Sts. A vehicle going through that intersection pulled down an electrical line, which pulled a light pole owned by Westar onto a car parked in the driveway of a residence at that address. The driver who pulled down the power line and caused the accident fled the scene. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Peabody Police Department at (620) 983-2133. Officers also worked a non-injury accident in the parking lot of Peabody-Burns High School.

Thursday — Police took a record check for a person making a ‘ride-along’ request.

Friday — Police began an investigation into violation of two protection-from-abuse orders. Jeff Madsen, Peabody, was arrested and charged with failure to appear on two Marion County warrants.
