Rung up
Police have to undo nature’s mischief

It was the nightmare of everyone who gets up on a ladder.
Hillsboro police had to help a man down from a roof Sunday after his ladder blew down, assistant chief Randy Brazil said.
The man called police at 3:38 p.m. after the ladder fell from the back side of a house where it had been propped.
The man simply needed someone to put the ladder back up so he could get down safely, Brazil said. The chief arrived two minutes later and resolved the situation in less than five minutes. No injuries were reported.
Brazil reminded that residents working on roofs should keep a cell phone with them and, if possible, have another person nearby in case something goes wrong.
“He was in a situation that he needed help,” Brazil said. “We’re all about service before self.”
