ACTIVITY REPORTS

Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.

Hillsboro

Oct. 4 – A dog bite complaint was investigated and two parking warning issued.

Oct. 5 – A parking complaint and a threat complaint were investigated..

Oct. 6 – Two cars were stopped and drivers issued warnings for not stopping at stop signs. A complaint about a stray dog was investigated.

A warning was issued for parking in a crosswalk and a citation issued for loose dogs. Police intervened in a child custody dispute.

A person sitting outside Casey’s General Store was checked and was found to be waiting for a ride.

Thursday – A warning was issued for improper lights and speed. A non-injury accident in the 100 block of N. Main St. was investigated

An investigation was made of a complaint of damage to a vehicle’s door. The complaint turned out to be unfounded. A report of a fire hydrant releasing water was investigated and found to be having a scheduled release by the water department.

A warning was issued for failing to stop at a stop sign and turning without signaling. A motorist sleeping at Ampride was checked and found to be tired and resting.

Friday – A check was made of a person in the 500 block of S. Washington. A speeding warning was issued and a parking complaint investigated in the 400 block of Santa Fe St. Officers investigated a complaint of a lost credit card being used by someone for an unauthorized purchase.

A warning was issued after investigating an aggressive driving complaint on US-56. Officers were told the driver and passenger were having an argument. A traffic stop was made and a warning given for improper towing and equipment. A citation was given for failure to stop.

Saturday – A welfare check was made on a Tabor College student and staff was assisted with other concerns. A welfare check was made in the 100 block of N. Washington and a stray dogs complaint investigated. Officers also investigated a stray dog complaint on 190th Rd. east of town.

Sunday – a complaint of a man cleaning a deer carcass in his yard was investigated. It was found to be a road kill deer that had been tagged and given to him by Kansas Wildlife and Parks officer.

MARION

Oct. 4 – Officers responded to a 911 disconnect in the 400 block of Locust and found everything OK.

Oct. 5 – A fire in the 100 block of Forest was checked and officers found the owner was putting it out. A warning was issued for speeding.

Oct. 6 – Officers were unable to locate a dog reported to be at large west of Cedar St. A non-injury accident on private property was investigated. Four traffic stops were made and warnings issued for speed.

Thursday – Police assisted with traffic control for a house fire in the 300 block of Miller St. Two traffic stops were made and issued warnings for speeding and a citation was issued for expired registration.

Friday – A citation was issued for speeding 35 mph in a 20 mph zone. A traffic stop was made and a warning issued for a headlight out.

Saturday – A traffic stop was made and a citation issued for speeding 80 mph in a 65 mph zone. Police checked on a report of a dog dragging a chain and secured the chain. A driver with no trailer lights received a warning.

Sunday – A traffic stop on a vehicle with a flat tire on its camper dragging a rim.
