ACTIVITY REPORTS
Law enforcement agencies provided these reports of their activities this past week. Routine activities such as patrols, inspections, training, report-writing, and assistance to other agencies are excluded.
HILLSBORO
May 24 — A light from a parking stall fell on a vehicle at Sonic Drive-In. A complaint about loud music in the 800 block of W. Grand Ave. was investigated. A motorist in the 500 block of N. Ash St. was warned for not wearing a seatbelt and not properly displaying a license plate.
May 25 — Police couldn’t find an intruder reported in the 300 block of S. Wilson St. or suspicious activity reported in the 500 block of W. Grand Ave. A report of dogs running free was investigated.
May 26 — A burglary in the 300 block of W. 3rd St. remains under investigation. Police helped a motorist stranded by flooding, located the owner of a vehicle blocking a driveway in the city’s industrial park, and took a patient to Hillsboro Community Hospital after checking on the person’s welfare in the 700 block of S. Washington St.
Thursday — Dogs reported running free in the 200 block of S. Elm St. were not found. Police took a driving complaint in the 400 block of N. Ash St. and checked on the welfare of a resident in the 300 block of W. 3rd St.
Friday — Police took information about stolen property and warned a motorist for speeding in the 600 block of Orchard St.
Saturday — Police investigated reports of illegal fireworks in the 400 block of S. Main St., a landlord-tenant in the 100 block of Birch St., and a dispute among neighbors in the 300 block of S. Washington St. A motorist was warned for having improper vehicle registration in the 400 block of W. B St.
Sunday — A domestic dispute in the 400 block of S. Birch St., a driving complaint on W. D St., and a dispute among neighbors in the 100 block of N. Lincoln St. were investigated. Officers also stood by during a civil matter in the 400 block of S. Birch St.
MARION
May 24 — Suspicious activity in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St. was investigated. A motorist was cited for speeding 14 mph over the speed limit at US-56 and Timber.
May 25 — Citations are pending after one dog reportedly bit another in the 200 block of N. Cedar St. Two motorists were warned for speeding.
May 26 — A cow discovered in a parking lot in the 1100 block of E. Main St. was herded out of town and put into first available field. Motorists were warned for having a headlight out and for failing to signal a turn. A verbal quarrel in the 400 block of Walnut St. was investigated.
Thursday — A possible scam and a disturbance in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. were investigated.
Friday — A motorist was warned for speeding. Police received a report of a possibly impaired driver.
Saturday — Dasan Z. Wallace, 23, Marion, was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery after he allegedly pushed a woman during a disturbance in the 400 block of S. Coble St.
A dog running free in the 100 block of N. Roosevelt St. was picked up by its owner. A report of possible trespassing in the 300 block of N. Lincoln St. was investigated.
Sunday — Rexana Siebert, 44, Marion, was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct, interference with law enforcement, and battery of a law enforcement officer and a corrections officer after she allegedly yelled and cursed at nurses at St. Luke Hospital. After resisting being handcuffed, she allegedly spit on the back of a Marion police officer and in the face of a deputy sheriff.
An injured squirrel was released outside the city limits. A dog running free was returned to its owner. A report of a possibly suicidal person was investigated.
