The spirits of both Peabody-Burns basketball teams were high Friday, but both teams fell to Elyria Christian.
Lady Warriors lost 50-29 after a vigorous first half.
The boys lost 61-40, having kept the score within a few points during the first quarter, but getting farther behind as the game went on.
Top scorer of the boys game was Cody Partridge with 14 points.
Coach Caleb Good said turnovers were the boys’ downfall, but overall he felt defense and rebounding were good.
“I felt that the energy was through the roof,” Good said. “Our effort and energy level was really high. [The student section] made it that much more enjoyable and made it such an amazing atmosphere.”
