Peabody-Burns brings home 5 gold medals

Peabody-Burns High School track and field managed to bring home five gold medals Tuesday from the Inman Quint meet held at Sterling.

Even though the meet got called early due to weather, track and field head coach Kim Topham was satisfied with the results.

“For a first meet we got five gold medals,” Topham said. “It was a good day.”

Cody Partridge placed 1st in long jump with a jump of 22 feet, 1 and ¼ inch and in high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 10 inches.

“Cody Partridge is 3 inches off of the school (long jump) record that has been there for 80 years,” Topham said, “so his goal is to get that record this year.”

Austin Reynolds placed 1st in triple jump with a jump of 38 feet, 3 and a half inches. He also ran a time of 17.03 in 110 meter hurdles.

Andrew Wedel placed 1st in shotput with a throw of 42 ft 1 and a half inches.

Cheyene Shaw ran the 100 meter dash in 14.67 seconds, and Zeke Castleman ran the 100 meter dash in 12.1 seconds.

Elena Miccone’s long jump length measured in at 13 feet, 2 inches.
