No good deed goes unrewarded

Staff writer

Laura Legg, manager of Ampride stations in Hillsboro and Marion, has been busy the past few years spreading good will among customers by nominating them for Cenex Tanks of Thanks fuel cards.

Evelyn Groop of Marion was one of the delighted recipients.

“It surprised the heck out of me,” she said. “I thought it was a wonderful thing.”

John Ottensmeier and Shannon Allen of Marion, Julie Klenda of Lincolnville, and Jason Plett of Hillsboro also have received the award. Anyone can nominate an individual to receive the $50 gift card by visiting tanksofthanks.com and sharing that individual’s story. There is no limit to the number of people a person can nominate, and anyone can be nominated for any act of kindness, big or small.

Cenex is the energy brand of CHS, a global energy, grains, and feed cooperative. The fuel is produced at the CHS refinery at McPherson.

The company selects 100 random nominees each month to receive the award. It is redeemable at any Cenex location.
