New members join city council

Staff writer

Two new members joined Peabody City Council at Monday’s meeting. Travis Wilson and Matthew Litton replaced Janice Woodruff and Steve Rose.

“I would like to say thanks for putting up with me for nine years,” Woodruff said. “It’s been a wonderful experience, and I’m glad it’s your problem now.”

In other matters, members elected Tom Spencer council president and authorized Wilson to sign in Larsen’s absence.

They also tabled an agreement on work on a railroad crossing until the city attorney can check the documents.

And they voted to go ahead with cutting off water service to the one city resident who had not paid or made effort to contact the city.

They also discussed whether to close an alley and a street near 601 Potters Rd.
