Mary Wiley

Tampa native Mary Margaret (Costello) Wiley died Oct. 17 in Centralia, Washington.

Born Nov. 26, 1927, in Tampa, she grew up on a family farm, graduated from Tampa High School, and attended Marymount College in Salina. She married Ken Wiley, also a Tampa native. After periods in Colorado and Oregon, the couple settled in Centralia in 1954.

She worked in Washington state government as secretary to a lieutenant governor and as journal clerk for the Senate, and had a distinguished career outside the home.

Her husband died in 2000, and a brother, Leo Costello of Pratt, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by daughters, Linda Wiley of Seattle, Washington, Jo Allen of Federal Way, Washington, and Julie Mann of Shoreline, Washington; sons, Jim of Seattle, Washington, and Jon of Centralia, Washington; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral mass and burial will be Friday in Centralia, Washington.
