Magdalen Dvorak

Magdalen M. Dvorak, 96, died Nov. 3 at the St. Luke Hospital in Marion. 

The Rosary was recited Friday at Zeiner Funeral Home of Marion.  The funeral Mass was Saturday at Holy Family Parish, St. John Nepomucene Church of Pilsen.  Interment followed at Pilsen Cemetery. 

She was born Sept. 9, 1919, near Lost Springs to Peter and Christina Silhan.  She was a graduate of Lincolnville High School. 

On May 30, 1939, she married Leonard Dvorak.  They had nine children.

She worked in housekeeping at St. Luke Hospital, retiring after 28 years.  She was a member of the Holy Family Parish, St. Anne’s Altar Society, and active in Tampa Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard and siblings  Peter Silhan and Valerian Silhan.

She is survived by her sons  Roger of Killeen, Texas; John of Marion; Thomas of Newton; Emil of Indianola, Iowa; David of Andover; and Michael of Emporia; her daughters  Karen Druse of Marion; Margaret Niles of El Reno, Oklahoma; and Marlene Clayton of Ellinwood; sisters  Beatrice Riedy of Hope; and Mildred Ireland of Hutchinson; and 20 grandchildren.

A Memorial Fund has been established for St. Luke Hospital in care of the funeral home.
