Lake buildings spiffed up

Staff writer

The county lake hall, bathrooms and shower facility, and office recently were spiffed up with brighter lighting and a fresh coat of paint.

Lake visitors are noticing the improvements and telling lake superintendent Isaac Hett how much better things look.

Last week, workers from Koehn Painting in Newton painted the entire exterior of the lake hall, the restroom and shower house, and the lake office.

“All I’ve got to do is put all my stuff back,” Hett said.

A lighting upgrade for the lake hall was completed June 14 by Elcon Electric.

That work included the banquet area, the seating area, and the kitchen.

The rejuvenation cost $18,000.

Hett said the lighting and painting work were all that would be done for now, but he’d like to have work done on the campground during the next budget cycle.
