Retired farmer and chicken rancher Jack D. Williams, 82, died Thursday at Via Christi - St. Francis Hospital, Wichita.

Born Christmas Day, 1933, in Marion to Irvin and Elsie (Hett) Williams, he graduated from Marion High School, served in the Army and on Aug. 2, 1959, married Carolyn “Sue” Haizlip.

She died in 2011. A daughter, Linda Holub, and a brother, Dean, also preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons Gary, Bruce, and Jim of Marion and Neil of Herington; sisters Jeanette Clark and Donna Fruechting; 13 grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

Services were Tuesday at Aulne United Methodist Church. Burial was in Marion Cemetery.

Memorials have been established with Marion County Relay for Life or the church.
