Ira Penner

Ira I. Penner, 94, died Nov. 9 at St. Luke Living Center.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held today at Valley United Methodist Church, with private inurnment in the Marion Cemetery.  

He was born January 18, 1921, in Hillsboro to Bernard and Anna Penner.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII, later farming in the Marion area.  

On June 4, 1950, he married Ruth Jo Willming.  They made their home south of Marion, and in retirement, moved into Marion.  

Both were members of the Valley United Methodist Church.

Ira was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Jo; and his siblings:  Victor Penner, Mary Ann Peters, Alice Hummel, Frieda Penner, and Katherine Flippen.  

A memorial fund has been established for Valley United Methodist Church.
