Dan Martel

Private graveside services for community volunteer Dan Martel, 85, who died Aug. 4 at his home in Peabody, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at Prairie Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Jim Pohlman officiating.

Born May 18, 1935, in Greenfield, Massachusetts, Dan married Elaine Martel in 1984 in Sterling, Colorado.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a long-time resident of Peabody. Dan was active in the community, volunteering at the Peabody Senior Center as well as many civic events. He also was a prominent member of Peabody Christian Church.

Survivors include stepsons, Robert Stice of Annandale, Virginia; David Stice of Windsor, Colorado; and Craig Stice of Las Animas, Colorado; and stepdaughter Susan Frost of Des Moines, Washington.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents and Elaine.

Memorials may be made to the Peabody Senior Center in care of Baker Funeral Home.
