Hillsboro crowns royalty
A 33-0 victory over Remington wasn’t the only thing Hillsboro High School celebrated Friday at Joel Wiens Stadium. Homecoming royalty was crowned before the Trojans’ shutout victory.
Adam Jost received the king’s crown, while Mackenzie D’Albini was crowned queen. Other candidates included Chloe Dirks, Austyn Driggers, Peter Farha, Braxton Hiebert, Nathan Hill, Nate Oelke, Cheyanne Plenert, and Amyah Werth.
Homecoming prince Tunoa Edwards and princess Cora Loewen presented the crowns to Adam and Mackenzie as the crowd erupted.
Hillsboro’s football team seemed to feed off the early energy. Kickoff began 15 minutes later, and the Trojans secured their second victory of the season behind an offensive clinic from quarterback Zayne Haslett, who ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more.
