Helen Logan

Helen Katherine “Blondie” Logan passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

She was born April 20, 1926, to William and Lydia (Schmidt) Liptau. She attended school through eighth grade.

She married Carrol Logan on Oct. 3, 1954. They lived on a farm in the Peabody area for almost 20 years, then moved to the Burns area, where she and her husband farmed together until Carrol’s death in 2010.

After the death of her husband, Helen moved to Kidron-Bethel in North Newton in 2012. For health reasons, Helen relocated to Parkside Homes in Hillsboro in 2015, where she resided until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carrol; and brothers Jake and Herb Liptau.

Helen is survived by foster son Tom Wunderlick and wife, Shawn, of Marion; niece Connie Sheffler of Peabody; nephews Randy Logan, Carl Frenzel, Glenn E. Frenzel, and Stephen Frenzel and their families; and grandchildren Brian and Annie Wunderlick, Carrie Newell, and Josh and Kelsie Yerion.

Visitation was Tuesday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. A graveside service, officiated by Glenn Litke, was July 12 at Whitewater Center Cemetery, rural Burns.

In lieu of flowers, Blondie requested memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
