Helen Bernhardt

Services for Helen L. Bernhardt, 85, who died April 6 at Parkside Homes, Hillsboro, were Sunday at Marion County Lake hall. Burial was in Lincolnville Cemetery.

Born Sept. 2, 1940, in Winfield to David and Louise (Langloys) Weathers, she graduated from Lincolnville High School and on Oct. 18, 1959, married Marvin “Shorty” Bernhardt.

She worked for 28 years as a grain merchandiser for Cooperative Grain and Supply.

Her husband preceded her in death as did siblings Bill Weathers and Sandy Knox.

Survivors include children Dan Bernhardt of Hillsboro, Dennis Bernhardt of Marion, and Diane Jeffrey of Marion; siblings LaVona Loveless, Bob Weathers, and Tudy Pope; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorials have been established with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Parkside Homes.
