Genevieve Stefan

Genevieve M. Stefan, 88, died Nov. 7 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

She was born Aug. 19, 1927, to Bernard and Mary (Wildeman) Zimmerman in Park. She married Marcus R. Stefan on Feb. 6, 1950, in Grinnell. She was a mother and homemaker for her husband and 10 children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and siblings Leo Zimmerman and Alberta Walt.

She is survived by: children, Gilbert of Emporia, Harold of Goodland, Darrold of Mesquite, Nevada, Bernie of Goodland, Leana McKenrick of Longview, Texas, Rick of Colby, Mary Svoboda of Marion, Robert of Marion, Mark of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Anita Svoboda of Lincolnville; siblings, John Zimmerman of Quinter, Peter Zimmerman of Grinnell, Ralph Zimmerman of Oakley, Joseph Zimmerman of Grinnell, Pauline Yonker of Munjor, and Angelina Hausheer of Topeka; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services were Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Park.

Memorials have been established with the Fr. Kapaun Legacy Fund and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
