Former Peabody mayor to show off memorabilia

Former resident and mayor Tom Schmidt will feature items from his collection of Peabody memorabilia at 2 p.m. April 26, in the Anne Potter Room of Peabody Township Library.

Schmidt’s presentation, “Collecting Peabody,” includes material he has assembled over more than 40 years.

Schmidt and his wife, Susie, raised three sons in Peabody. He retired in 2017, and he and his wife moved to Eudora to be closer to family.

He now substitute teaches at Eudora and is involved in the “Save the Flag” initiative to restore Kansas Civil War flags.
