Football players receive district, league honors

Several Peabody-Burns football players received district team honors from 8-Man Division 1 District 2.
Sophomore lineman Landon Rives was named to the all-district offensive team. Honorable mention on offense included sophomore running back Jess Philpott, sophomore receiver Rocco Weerts, and senior quarterback Bryant Young.
The defensive team included senior lineman Bailey Penner and sophomore linebacker Landon Rives. Defensive honorable mention included sophomore linebacker Jess Philpott and senior defensive back Bryant Young.
High school football players from Centre, Goessel, and Peabody-Burns were named to the all-league team.
The Wheat State all-league team included, Centre senior Max Svoboda, sophomore Jensen Riffel, and junior Xavier Espinoza; Goessel junior Zach Zogelman; and Peabody-Burns sophomore Jess Philpott.
Honorable mention included sophomore Braxton Smith from Centre, senior Carson Sterk from Goessel, and sophomore Landon Rives from Peabody-Burns.
