Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

Jan. 29

2:22 a.m. — A call came from the area of Yarrow and US-50 that someone who had been stuck in a car with no heat couldn’t feel their toes, no one was taken to a hospital by Florence ambulance.

1:54 p.m. — A woman who had fallen at Indian Guide apartments in Peabody refused to be taken to a hospital by Peabody ambulance.

11:03 p.m. — A patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital was taken to St. Francis in Wichita by Hillsboro ambulance.

Jan. 30

5:06 p.m. — An 82-year-old woman who was feeling light headed in the 100 block of E. 9th St., Florence, refused to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

6:14 p.m. — An alarm company advised that a smoke detector was going off in the 200 block Eisenhower St., Marion. Marion firefighters could not locate a residence, as the address was from Hillsboro.

6:49 p.m. — A patient from HCH was taken to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, by Hillsboro ambulance.

thursday

6:19 a.m. — Peabody firefighters responded to a fire alarm in the 400 block of N. Locus St., Peabody. No smoke or fire was found.

11:01 a.m. — A lethargic 91-year-old woman with a high temperature at Peabody Health and Rehab in Peabody was taken to Newton Medical Center by Peabody ambulance.

1:10 p.m. — A woman having difficulty breathing in the 400 block W. Grand Ave., Hillsboro, was taken to NMC by Hillsboro ambulance.

7:44 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters were called to the 200 block of N. Madison St., Hillsboro for a smell of smoke in the house. No fire or smoke were found.

11:33 p.m. — A 42-year-old woman who was having a seizure in the 400 block of E. 1st St., Hillsboro was taken to HCH by Hillsboro ambulance with lifting assistance from Hillsboro firefighters.

friday

3:55 p.m. — A diabetic man with a low blood sugar level in the 400 block S. 4th St., Marion refused to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

3:57 p.m. — A small grass fire in the ditch in the area of US-56 and Diamond Rd., was responded to by Hillsboro firefighters.

7:06 p.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to a gas meter that was hit in the 700 block of S. Lincoln St., Hillsboro.

7:43 p.m. — Durham first responders and Tampa ambulance responded to an unknown medical problem with a driver in the area of Kanza and 290th Rds. The driver refused to be taken to a hospital by Tampa ambulance.

saturday

9:05 p.m. — Sheriff’s officers requested Florence ambulance to the 100 block of W. 7th St., Florence. No one was taken to a hospital.

sunday

10:32 a.m. — A man with a high fever and possibly having a seizure at Salem Home, Hillsboro, was taken to St. Luke Hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

12:32 p.m. — A 66-year-old woman with hip and leg pain in the area of K-15 and 330th Rds., was taken to St. Luke by Tampa ambulance.

7:26 p.m. — A 47-year-old woman who fell down steps in the 600 block of E. 5th St., Peabody, was taken to NMC by Peabody ambulance.

monday

12:05 p.m. — A 66-year-old woman who fell out of bed needed help getting up in the area of K-15 and 330th Rds. She refused to be taken to a hospital by Tampa ambulance.

1:53 p.m. — An elderly female having difficulty breathing was en route to NMC and requested Peabody ambulance meet the car and take her on to the hospital.

4:28 p.m. — A patient from St. Luke was taken to St. Francis, Wichita by Marion ambulance.

6:15 p.m. — A patient from HCH was taken to Hillsboro airport to meet Lifeteam to be taken to a hospital in Kansas City by Hillsboro ambulance.
