Broadcasts about these fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

jan. 22

1:11 p.m. — Tampa ambulance, Lost Springs and Lincolnville firefighters, and Marion rescue were called to the area of 340th and US-77 to a semi that jacked-knifed. Marion rescue and Tampa ambulance were canceled and returned to their stations as the patient refused to be taken to a hospital.

6:08 p.m. — Goessel firefighters and first responders, Peabody rescue, and Hillsboro ambulance responded to the area of 120th Rd., between Eagle and Falcon Rds., for a one-vehicle accident The patient refused to be taken to a hospital.

7:41 p.m. — Florence firefighters, Florence rescue, and Florence and Peabody ambulances responded to a one-vehicle accident in the area of 110th and Sunflower Rds. Four patients refused to be taken to a hospital.

10:47 p.m. — A 95-year-old woman who was feeling sick with stomach pain in the 200 block of N. 4th St., Marion, was taken to St. Luke Hospital by Marion ambulance.

11:49 p.m. — A 19-year-old woman who was unconscious and having seizures in the 1500 block of Lawrence St., Marion, was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

Jan. 23

4:13 a.m. — An alarm company requested Hillsboro ambulance for lift assistance in the 200 block of W. B St., Hillsboro. No one was found at the address.

7:50 a.m. — A woman was unconscious and not breathing in the 1500 block of Victory Lane, Marion. Marion ambulance crew attempted to resuscitate patient but she had already died.

6:02 p.m. — A patient from Hillsboro Community Hospital was taken to Newton Medical Center by Hillsboro ambulance.

thursday

5:50 a.m. — A woman who was complaining of extreme back pain in the 200 block of S. Cedar St., Marion, was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

7:36 a.m. — A patient from St. Luke was taken to NMC by Marion ambulance.

7:40 a.m. — Goessel firefighters were called to an alarm in the area of 180th and Chisholm Trail Rds. A smoke detector was going off in a basement from a water heater that had exploded.

friday

10:48 p.m. — Law enforcement requested Hillsboro ambulance to the area 210th and Eagle Rds.. No patient was taken to a hospital.

Saturday

10:40 a.m. — A 69-year-old man who was weak with an irregular heart beat in the 500 block of N. Main St., Tampa, was taken to Herington Hospital by Tampa ambulance.

10:52 a.m. — An resident from Westview Manor with an elevated temperature was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

6:55 p.m. — A 60-year-old woman who was having difficulty breathing in the area of 300 block of 170th St., was taken to NMC by Hillsboro ambulance. Goessel first responders were also on scene.

8:06 p.m. — A 58-year-old man who was having shortness of breath in the area of 200th and Nighthawk Rds., was taken to St. Luke by Marion ambulance.

11:55 p.m. — A patient from NMC was taken to the area of 300 and 170th St., by Hillsboro ambulance.

sunday

9:36 a.m. — A resident at Bethesda Home with low oxygen levels and a high temperature was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita by Hillsboro ambulance.

6:42 p.m. — A 20-year-old woman who had fallen and was having a seizure in the 100 block of W. 7th St., Florence, was taken to St. Luke by Florence ambulance.

10:42 p.m. — A person had fallen and needed lifting assistance from Marion ambulance in the 400 block of S. Freeborn St., Marion.

monday

6:06 p.m. — Tampa ambulance was asked by sheriff deputies to stage in the area of Santa Fe and 6th Sts., Durham, for a person who was experiencing shortness of breath in the 200 block of 6th St., Durham. He refused to be taken to a hospital. Hillsboro ambulance was paged by law enforcement to stage at the same location but was soon canceled.
