These broadcasts regarding fire and ambulance calls were monitored this past week by the newspaper.

Nov. 14

12:40 p.m. — A man who was not making sense after passing out and regaining consciousness on Gilham Rd. east of Upland. Rd. at the county lake was examined by Marion ambulance attendants. No one was transported to a hospital.

1:03 p.m. — Marion firefighters were dispatched for a fire alarm at Marion County Special Education Cooperative, but three minutes later an alarm company contacted dispatcher to report a false alarm.

7:42 p.m. — A male who reported having suicidal thoughts in the 100 block of W. 7th St. in Florence was taken by Florence ambulance to St. Luke Hospital.

7:53 p.m. — A sheriff’s deputy requested backup from a Hillsboro officer for a possible suicidal subject near a bridge on Mustang Rd. south of 190th Rd. At 8:07 p.m. the deputy reported having the subject in a car and requested contact information for a parent. No additional transmissions regarding transportation of the individual were recorded.

nov. 15

2:58 p.m. — A fire underneath a house in the 400 block of Maria St. in Lehigh drew firefighters from Hillsboro, Goessel, and Durham, and Hillsboro ambulance. All emergency personnel were clear of the scene by 5:05 p.m.

thursday

2:41 p.m. — A woman reported striking her head on a porch rail after having allegedly been pushed during an apparent landlord-tenant dispute in the 200 block of E. Division St. in Peabody. Law enforcement and Peabody ambulance responded. An individual whose condition was described as “code yellow” was taken to Newton Medical Center.

6:05 p.m. — A woman with an unspecified condition in the 300 block of N. Locust St. in Peabody was examined by Peabody ambulance attendants. No one was taken to a hospital.

friday

2:47 a.m. — Hillsboro firefighters responded to the men’s quad at Tabor College for a fire alarm. No smoke or fire was discovered.

1:19 p.m. — An individual who was sitting on some porch steps and could not get up in the 500 block N. Ash St. was assisted by Hillsboro ambulance personnel. No one was taken to a hospital.

2:53 p.m. — A patient at Hillsboro Community Hospital was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Via Christi – St. Francis in Wichita.

7:12 p.m. — A patient at HCH was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

8:39 p.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken by Marion ambulance to Salina Regional Medical Center. The ambulance picked up a paramedic at Hillsboro to assist with the call.

9:46 p.m. — An accident initially reported to be a two-vehicle accident on US-50 at Peabody was discovered to be a one-vehicle non-injury accident. Peabody ambulance responded, but did not transport anyone to a hospital.

9:27 a.m. — A woman who felt like she was on the verge of having a seizure in the 100 block of N. Freeborn St. was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke.

10:56 a.m. — A patient at St. Luke was taken by Marion ambulance to Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.

7:28 p.m. — A man with an unspecified health condition in a vehicle on Indigo Rd. north of 120th Rd. was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to HCH.

10:21 p.m. — A patient at HCH was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

monday

11:42 a.m. — A male with breathing difficulties at the county courthouse was taken by Marion ambulance to St. Luke.

12:06 p.m. — A male in his 80s with shortness of breath and high blood pressure at Bethesda Homes in Goessel was taken by Hillsboro ambulance to Newton Medical Center.

2:05 p.m. — Peabody ambulance and Florence and Burns first responders were paged for a one-vehicle rollover north of Burns on US-77 between 30th and 40th Rds. EMS director Ed Debesis also responded. At 2:18 p.m, a first responder at the scene indicated that an individual was refusing treatment and that all emergency units responding could be canceled.

7:16 p.m. — A woman stuck in a garage in the 500 block of S. Cedar St. was assisted by Marion ambulance attendants. No one was taken to a hospital.
