Eldon Smith

Eldon H. Smith, 88, McPherson, died May 3 at Pleasant View Home, Inman.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today at First Baptist Church, McPherson. Burial will be at McPherson Cemetery with military honors.

He was born June 7, 1927, to Ellis and Lillian Smith in McPherson and was one of five children.

He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and spent one and a half years in Panama.

He married Lorene Winter on Aug. 7, 1959, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

Survivors include wife, Lorene, of McPherson; and sister, Betty Lou Leason, of Lindrith, New Mexico.

Memorials may be made to McPherson First Baptist Church, Lions Club Sight, or Elyria Christian School.
