Edna Oursler

Edna C. Oursler, 89, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016.

She was born to Eli Benjamin Butts and Nancy Caroline “Lina” (Branson) Butts in Newton, Kansas. She was a graduate of Newton High School.

Edna began as a waitress at the age of 13 at the Harvey House during World War II. She also worked at many others. She retired in 1990 after 13 years with Dake’s.

She married Kermit Oursler on Oct. 10, 1944, and to this union were born three sons and two daughters.

She is survived by her sons Frank and wife, Sharon, Harley and wife, Pam, and David and wife, Janet; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Kermit Oursler, two daughters, parents, siblings, and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was Tuesday, Aug. 30 and services were Wednesday, Aug. 31, both held at Baker Funeral Home, Peabody, Kansas. A graveside service was at White Water Center Cemetery, 20th and Timber Rds., Peabody, Kansas.

Memorials may be designated in her memory to Good Shepherd Hospice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerfhvc.com
