Dennis Dillon

Funeral Mass for Dennis E. Dillon, 64, of Hope, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 29, at St. Philip Catholic Church, Hope.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at St. Philip Catholic Hall. Rosary will follow.

He passed away June 19, 2026, with his family surrounding him.

Born May 12, 1962, in Marion, he was one of eight children of Ralph and Margaret (Biehler) Dillon.

A 1980 graduate of Hope High, he received a bachelor’s degree in agronomy in 1984 from Kansas State University.

He was a farmer and former line mechanic at Philips Electronics. Before working at Phillips, he worked at Agri Producers in Carlton and Tampa.

He was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus and was on the board of Marion County Rural Water District No. 1.

His parents, brother Michael, brother-in-law Lynn Jones, and niece Sara Goddard preceded him in death.

Surviving are siblings Joan Jones of Abilene; Patricia (and husband Doug) McClane of O’Fallon, Illinois; Greg Dillon of Hope; Doug (and wife Esther) Dillon of Hope; Karen (and husband Johnnie) Goddard of Ellsworth; and James Dillon of Abilene.

Also surviving are nieces and nephews Jennifer, Amanda, Elizabeth, Andrew, Abigail, Anna, Christina, Kathryn and John.

Memorial contributions in Dennis’ name may be given to St. Philip Catholic Church. Yazel-Megli Funeral Home is serving the family.
