NEW ARRESTS

Joseph G. Arnold, 35, Coralville, Iowa, arrested Tuesday by Hillsboro police on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, transporting an open container of alcohol, speeding, and failing to have required vehicle liability insurance. Held in lieu of a $2,500 surety bond.

Darren D. Ayers, 36, Wichita, arrested Sunday by a state trooper for failing to appear in court and on suspicion of driving while his license was canceled, suspended, or revoked. Released 2½ hours later after posting a $1,500 surety bond.

Fay A. Britton, 43, Hillsboro, arrested Thursday by Hillsboro police on suspicion of driving while her license was canceled, suspended, or revoked. Released three hours later after posting a $2,000 surety bond.

Zachary J. Gutierrez, 28, Hillsboro, arrested Friday by Hillsboro police on suspicion of domestic battery and criminal damage to property. Released a day later after posting a $10,000 surety bond.

Philip D. Heathcock, 53, Florence, arrested Tuesday by a sheriff’s deputy for twice failing to appear in court. Held in lieu of $15,000 surety bond. Previously jailed four times for a total of 17 days between May 9, 2018, and June 24, 2022, for failing to appear in court, for allegedly violating probation, and on suspicion of possessing and distributing illicit stimulants and driving as a habitual violator of license laws.

Darrell J. Shepherd, 39, Marion, jailed Friday for 48 hours on court orders. Previously jailed four time for a total of 20 days between Nov. 18, 2019, and May 3, 2021, on court orders, for allegedly violating his probation, and for twice allegedly violating an order of protection from abuse.

Chirstopher M. Thomas, 24, Junction City, jailed Sept. 7 for contempt of court. Released two days later without bond. Previously jailed March 30 and 31 on suspicion of distributing drug paraphernalia and the active ingredient in marijuana, possessing illicit stimulants such as methamphetamine, and having no tax stamp for the sale of drugs.
