Terry L. Bowen, an inmate at Lansing Prison, filed a motion Aug. 29 seeking to have his 2011 conviction and sentencing for two counts of rape, aggravated criminal sodomy, aggravated kidnapping, and battery re-examined. Judge Courtney Boehm denied his motion Aug. 31 on the grounds that it was filed after a time limit had run out and that he made no claim of actual innocence.

Marion County Sheriff’s Office filed a request Aug. 30 to seize $2,561 in currency and $16,640 in illegal narcotics, including 142 grams of cocaine, 241 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 39 grams of marijuana, and multiple THC vapes and edibles. The items were taken Aug. 24 when deputies searched a 2017 Hyundai driven by Makayla N. Siegrist, 22, with Justin M. Carpenter, 23, both of Indianapolis, as a passenger.

Thomas Trezise, who filed suit Jan. 29, 2021, against Casey’s Retail Co. for injuries he claimed were from a fall on an icy parking lot at Casey’s in Marion, and Casey’s settled the suit out of court Sept. 1. Court records do not reveal the amount of the settlement.
