Charles Heiser

Charles E. Heiser, 88, left this world to be with the Lord on May 10, 2016, at Salem Home in Hillsboro.

He was born October 30, 1927, at his family farm outside of Ramona. He was the fifth of six children born to John and Mary (Kleiber) Heiser.

He was baptized into the Straussburg Baptist Church, where he remained a faithful member his entire life.

He graduated from Ramona High School in 1945.

He met his wife, Ruth B. Skibbe, at Straussburg Baptist Church, where they were wed on September 1, 1949.

Charles and Ruth were blessed with two sons: Mark in 1954, and Don in 1958. They made their home near Ramona, where he was a farmer and a stockman.

As an active church member, he served as a trustee and deacon, and taught Sunday School for many years.

He was preceded in death by his son Don; his parents; and siblings: Harry Heiser, Kathryn Schimpf, Neva Heidebrecht, and Leona Fessler.

He is lovingly survived by his wife Ruth Heiser of Ramona; a son Mark Heiser and his wife Kathy of Ramona; granddaughters Stephanie Albrecht and her husband Kelly of Macedonia, Ohio; Krista Donahue and her husband Andrew of Lincolnville, Kansas; two great-granddaughters: CheyLynn and Harper; and a brother John Heiser and his wife Lucille of Herington. 

The visitation was held Thursday evening at Zeiner Funeral Home, Marion.  The Funeral service was at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2016, at Strassburg Baptist Church, Marion. 

Interment was in Lewis Cemetery, Ramona. 

Memorial funds have been established for Strassburg Baptist Church or for Salem Home in care of Zeiner Funeral Home.
