GOLF:   Centre golf to focus on individual performance

With just one letter winner returning and four athletes out for spring golf at Centre, the emphasis will be on individual achievement.

Senior Nathaniel Engler competed in the state meet last year and is hoping for a return trip. His lowest career score has been a 92.

Coach Greg Wyatt said he expects Engler to play consistent golf this year.

Other returning golfers are senior Tyler Bentz and sophomores Bryce Brunner and Wesley Love.

“They will set goals for themselves and try to meet or exceed those goals in working to become better each and every time out,” Wyatt said. “Hopefully, the experience and practice they get will carry them to become the best golfers they can be.”

Their first meet is Tuesday at Herington.
