Billie D. “Bill” Berry, 66, of Florence, died Feb. 25 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita after a battle with cancer.

Berry was born Dec. 26, 1950, to Chet and Flora Berry on the family farm near Harveyville.

He graduated from Harveyville High School in 1968, and worked a variety of jobs, including logging and driving trucks for ranchers.

On March 15, 1970, he married Jacque Bean. To this union, one son, Billie D. Berry Jr., was born.

He was preceded in death by brothers Jerry Berry and Larry Berry; half-sister Evelyn Gifford; and half-brother Paul Berry.

He is survived by wife Jacque of Lenexa; son Billie Berry Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri; stepson Gary Armstrong of Florence; sisters Delores Tucker of Admire, LaDonna Pierce of Americus, and Diane Berry, Linda Berry, and Connie Gardner, all of Osage City; brothers Robert Berry of Admire, and Kenny Berry of Osage City; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date.
