Betty Beneke

Betty Beneke, 83, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at Dignity Care Home in Salina.

She was born May 25, 1933, near Lincolnville, Kansas, the daughter of Karl and Katherine Beisel Frobenius. She attended Lincolnville schools, graduating from Lincolnville High School.

On Dec. 8, 1951, she was married to Eldon Beneke. She was a 27-year employee at the Lincolnville Coop elevator. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lincolnville.

She was preceded in death by a son, Leo, her husband Eldon in 2013, brothers Dean and Marion, and a sister, Ruth.

She is survived by two sons, Doug and wife Linda and Larry, all of Salina; a sister, Lulu Swenson of Lindsborg; and 4 grandchildren, Victoria, Bryant, Brett and Brittany.

A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lincolnville. Interment will follow at the Lincolnville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Zeiner Funeral Home, 205 Elm, Marion.
