Beth Eldridge
Beth Eldridge, 59, Peabody, was born September 14, 1956. Beth went home to be with the Lord on April 9, 2016.
Beth has been a resident of Peabody for 21 years. She grew up in Utica, New York, and served honorably in the Air Force for five years.
Beth had a special calling to help children, serving in local church ministries and volunteering at the grade school. Beth’s life was spent serving the Lord and serving others.
Funeral services were held on April 14 at the Methodist Church in Peabody.
Sean Phillip, pastor of Gracepoint Church in Peabody, gave the eulogy and funeral sermon, and Beth’s daughter Leah Wickham shared words about her mother from her family. John DelVecchio gave a reading of 1 Corinthians 13.
Special music was provided by Dave and Lana Griffis. Pianist Veda Ann McPheeters, Vanessa Loewen, Susan Good, and Kim Topham led all in singing “In the Garden” and “Victory in Jesus.” Angela DeFisher, pastor of the Methodist Church, gave the opening and closing prayers.
Words were spoken at the graveside by Pastor Philip and Bob Burnison, and Noni Burnison led all in “Amazing Grace.”
Visitation was held the previous evening at Gracepoint Church with special music provided by Mark and Janet Eldridge of Wichita. A meal was provided for all at Gracepoint following the services on Thursday. The meal was coordinated by Stephanie Schmeling. Pallbearers were Chuck Good, Kevin Koslowsky, Eugene Newfield, Gilbert Loewen, Albert Smith, and Tony Zappone.
Beth is survived by her husband of 33 years, Duke. She is also survived by their daughter Leah and Andrew Wickham of Wichita; sons, Christopher and Marlissa Eldridge of Peabody, Isaiah Eldridge of Newton, Benjamin Eldridge of Salina, and Abraham Eldridge of Peabody; and grandchildren, Clara, Anna, Samuel, Colin, Lauren, and Guiliano.
Surviving siblings and family are Martin Potter of Mount Laurel, New Jersey; Lisa Olsen of Chaska, Minnesota; Linette Centilello of Timmons, Maryland; Tim Potter of Cotuit, Massachusetts, Kurt Potter of Fairfield, Connecticut; Eric Potter of Utica, New York; Bill Potter of Albany, New York; and Duke Potter of Rochester, New York.
Beth was preceded in death by her parents LeRoy and Marie Potter.
Beth was light-hearted and enjoyed life. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, sending cards of encouragement, talking on the phone with her sisters, feeding birds, and discussing TV shows with her friend Peggy.
Beth was known nationally as “Gladys Kravitz” on the Don and Mike radio show.
A Beth Eldridge memorial fund for the Peabody-Burns grade school has been established at Peabody State Bank.
