Bert Zogelman

Bertha “Bert” Zogelman, 84, died Monday at St. Luke Living Center.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Florence. A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, also at the church. Inurnment will follow in the Burns Catholic Cemetery.  Cremation has taken place.

She was born Oct. 21, 1931, to Nicholas and Gertrude (Hommertzheim) Schoenecker at St. Leo, and was the youngest of 10 children. 

She married Norbert J. Zogelman on Aug. 23, 1952.  Their marriage was blessed with 4 children. 

She was a farm wife and later cooked at the Chuckwagon and worked at the greenhouse in Florence. 

She was preceded in death by her husband and 7 siblings:  Josephine Blanchat, Annie Schoenecker, Betty Smith, Chris Carter, Martha Miller, Bart Schoenecker, and Pete Schoenecker. 

She is survived by her children,  Carol Callahan of Burns; Pat Zogelman; Nick Zogelman; and Scott Zogelman, all of Florence; 7 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Schoenecker of Wichita; and brother Joe Schoenecker of Wichita.

Memorials have been established with Good Shepherd Hospice.
