Ball field lights ready to install

Donated lights for the city ball field are ready to install, Florence Chamber of Commerce members learned at Friday’s meeting at the city building meeting room.

Arrangements need to be made with an electrician and Westar to install the poles. The goal is to have them ready by Memorial Day. The project has incurred no cost at this point.

Plans were discussed for the annual Easter egg hunt in Grandview Park on March 31. Members will meet at noon March 30 to stuff eggs.

It was reported that Jim Shipman is planning to open a bar in April. Preparations are being made to replace the sidewalk in front of the Main St. location.

The next scheduled meeting will be at noon April 6.
