Amanda Ewert, 96, died May 17 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. June 27 at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

She was born April 20, 1920, to Tobias and Mary (Thomas) Deckert at Marion, South Dakota.

She was a secretary at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.  

She married John Ewert Oct. 22, 1943, in Marion, South Dakota.  He predeceased her in 2004.

Survivors include: son, Al Ewert of Wichita; daughters, Eldora Penner of McPherson, and Rachel Behrends of Overland Park; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.  

Memorials may be made to World Impact, Celebrate Hope, or Parkside Homes.
