These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

K-15 north of 250th Rd.

Fifteen-year-old Ayden W. Britton of Tampa hit a deer at 9:23 p.m. July 24 while driving a 2014 GMC Terrain in violation of his license restrictions, according to deputy Clayton Philpott’s report, one of six released Friday by the sheriff’s office.

He was examined by Marion ambulance attendants after reporting head and chest pain but was released to a parent. No tickets were listed as being issued.

The GMC, owned by Amanda R. Britton of the same address, sustained disabling damage to its left front, hood, and undercarriage and was towed.

US-50 east of Turkey Creek Rd.

Zachary D. Wiggers, 24, Newton, hit a deer at 10:20 p.m. July 26 with a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria owned by passenger Dawson K. Smith, 23, Halstead.

The car sustained disabling damage to its front third, hood, and undercarriage and was towed.

330th Rd. west of Falcon Rd.

Passenger Drew M. Ratzlaff, 38, Goessel, was airlifted in critical condition to Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, after driver Caden G. Wedel, 22, rural Tampa, fell asleep at 3:15 p.m. July 27, and his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado veered off the road into the left ditch, crossed a small creek, and hit the creek’s bank.

Ratzlaff was trapped in the pickup and had to be extricated by Durham and Hillsboro firefighters.

Wedel was examined by Hillsboro and Tampa ambulance attendance and Durham first responders but declined to be taken to a hospital.

The pickup, owned by Merline R. Wiebe of a different rural Tampa address, was characterized as destroyed.

No tickets were listed as being issued.

K-15 south of 120th Rd.

Brooks A. Craig, 20, Wakefield, hit a deer at 9:38 p.m. July 27 with his 2009 Chrysler Sebring, which sustained disabling damage to its front and hood and was towed.

K-15 south of 90th Rd.

Andrew J. Wray, 42, Hesston, hit a deer at 10:15 p.m. July 27 with his 2016 Chevrolet Suburban. Damage to its left front was characterized as minor.

Keli R. Wray, 47, and children Zaylah, 16; Tate, 15; Irie, 10; Titan, 8; and Gana, 1, all of the same address, were passengers.

US-56 east of Limestone Rd.

An eastbound 2021 Ford F-250 and a westbound 2012 Toyota RAV4 attempting to make a U-turn on US-56 collided at 4:13 p.m. July 28.

Toyota driver Heidi V. Lydic, 32, Carlton, suffered what was described by dispatchers as a hand injury but declined to be taken to a hospital by Marion ambulance.

Her Toyota, owned by Thomas M. Lydic of the same address, and the pickup, owned by Wray Roofing of Newton and driven by Robert M. Dunn, 40, Emporia, sustained disabling damage to their front thirds and undercarriage and were towed.

Both vehicles ran off the road after colliding. Hillsboro firefighters disconnected their batteries as a precaution.

Deputy Bruce Burke’s report blames the wreck on inattentive driving and failure to yield by Lydic, but no tickets were listed as being issued.
