These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:
SHERIFF
Sunflower Rd. north of 120th Rd.
Swerving to miss a dog in the roadway at 12:48 a.m. June 10, Adam Heerey, 39, Marion, drove his 2023 Toyota 4Runner off the road to the left and into a fence owned by Matthew Regier, according to one of three accident reports released Thursday by the sheriff’s office.
The Toyota remained drivable with damage to its front and hood.
K-15/Bison Rd. south of US-56
Vaughn B. Matz, 62, rural Hillsboro, was taken by ambulance to Hillsboro Community Hospital after he rolled his 1969 Pontiac GTO into the right ditch while swerving to avoid a deer at 11:56 p.m. June 11.
The Pontiac sustained disabling damage to its front two-thirds and was towed.
US-77 south of 140th Rd.
Gracie D. Mackey, 21, Emporia, hit a deer at 4:02 a.m. June 16 with her 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, which deployed its airbags and sustained disabling damage to its front. The pickup was towed.
MARION
US-56 east of Industrial St.
Connor L. Williams, 26, McPherson, hit and killed a deer at 12:43 a.m. Sunday while driving a 2021 Jeep Compass owned by passenger Ryanne L. Esau, 22, also of McPherson.
The Jeep remained drivable with damage to its left front and hood.
