These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

US-50 east of Union Rd.

Victor A. Towler, 62, Mesa, Arizona, notified deputies seven hours afterward that he had hit a deer at 1:37 a.m. June 29 with his 2023 Toyota Tacoma, which sustained damage to its left side.

US-56 at Timber Rd.

Attempting to turn south at 6:55 p.m. June 29, Izabella N. Palacios, 20, McPherson, lost control of her 1997 Honda Civic, and it skidded into a ditch, damaging a stop sign.

A report by deputy Kaylan Miles blamed the accident on a problem with the car’s brakes.

According to monitored transmissions, deputy Joshua Meliza remained at the intersection until 7:40 p.m., when a road and bridge crew showed up to repair the sign.

US-56 east of Nighthawk Rd.

Former Peabody police officer Presley L. Mabe, 23, Marion, was injured when he hit a deer at 5:25 a.m. July 2 with his 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier.

According to monitored transmissions, a shard of glass became embedded in Mabe’s hand. He declined to be taken to a hospital by Hillsboro ambulance.

His car sustained disabling damage to its left side, hood, undercarriage, roof, windshield, and other windows and was towed.

120th Rd. east of Indigo Rd.

David L. Johnson, 53, Goessel, hit a deer at 9:24 p.m. July 2 with his 2015 Ford Explorer, which remained drivable with damage to its front, hood, and undercarriage.

190th Rd. west of Nighthawk Rd.

Shawn M. Levis, 36, Hillsboro, hit a deer at 5:59 a.m. July 3 with his 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, which remained drivable with damage to its front and hood.

US-77 north of 120th Rd.

Theodore H. Davis, 65, Milford, hit a deer at 6:11 a.m. July 3 with his 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander, which sustained disabling damage to its front half and was towed.

300 block of S. Roosevelt St., Marion

Her visibility hindered by windshield fog at 5:35 a.m. Friday, Jadeann R. Lloyd-Garner, 20, Marion, drove her 2008 Dodge Avenger into the rear of a legally parked 2015 Chevrolet Equinox owned by Bernice A. Beach of Augusta.

The Dodge sustained disabling damage to its left front and hood and was towed. The Chevy remained drivable with damage to its right rear.

In addition to a fogged windshield, deputy Joshua Meliza blamed the accident on inattentive driving, but no tickets were listed as being issued.

A sheriff’s deputy investigated the accident because no Marion police officers were on duty at the time.

Nighthawk Rd. east of 80th Rd.

Gary G. Hilliard, 67, Hillsboro, hit a deer at 5:50 a.m. Friday with his 2006 Lexus 330, which remained drivable with damage to its left front.
