These accident reports were released this past week by law enforcement agencies:

SHERIFF

US-50 east of Sunflower Rd.

Sylvian N. Arceneaux, 42, Junction City, hit an unidentified animal at 1:55 a.m. July 9 while driving a 2012 Ford Fusion owned by passenger Lamont D. Kairson of the same Junction City address.

The Ford sustained damage estimated as disabling but was removed by its owner. Neither the driver nor the owner reported injuries.

US-56/77 south of 220th Rd.

An Oklahoma man was charged with crossing the centerline after his southbound 2020 Dodge Challenger sideswiped a northbound 2015 Dodge Charger at 8:22 p.m. July 9.

No injuries were reported by southbound driver Steven L. Sneary, 57, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; his 16-year-old passenger, Chance L. Sneary of the same address; and northbound driver Hayden C. Bruner, 24, Wichita.

Both Dodges sustained disabling damage and were towed.

US-56/77 south of 257th Terr.

Coby N. Onek, 32, El Dorado, hit a deer at 11:50 p.m. July 10 with his 2022 Chevrolet Silverado, which remained functional.

150th and Timber Rds.

Inattentive driving by a teenager and overgrown vegetation partially blocking view of an intersection were blamed in deputy Derek Fetrow’s report after two pickup trucks — one driven by a 16-year-old, the other by an 86-year-old — collided in an intersection at 10:36 a.m. July 12.

The front of a 2000 Dodge Dakota driven by 16-year-old Gavin W. Regier of rural Peabody hit the rear bed of a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado owned and driven by 86-year-old Rodney R. Williams of Florence. Regier, southbound on Timber, had been turning west to go in the same direction at Williams.

Both pickups remained functional, and no tickets were issued.

Regier’s pickup is listed as being owned by deputy sheriff Matthew J. Regier of the same address.

US-77 north of 140th Rd.

Suzanne M. Robinson, 57, Florence, hit a deer at 3 p.m. July 13 with her 2020 Honda Insight, which remained functional.

HILLSBORO

Ash and D Sts.

In an accident involving two teenage drivers, Alexander M. Johnson, 18, Marion, was cited for running a stop sign at 11:10 a.m. July 13 after his 2017 Honda Civic, westbound on D St., was hit by an eastbound 2000 Ford Mustang turning left onto Ash St.

Officer John Huebert’s report stated that the Mustang’s 15-year-old driver, Cash E. Walles of rural Hillsboro, was in compliance with restrictions on his license. The Mustang is owned by Douglas G. Walles of the same address.

Neither of the drivers nor Johnson’s 13-year-old passenger, Coltyn Richardson of Marion, reported injury. Damage to both vehicles was listed as minor.

Adams St. east of 2nd St.

Jill M. Just, 46, Hillsboro, backed her 2006 Chevrolet Impala into a 2015 Nissan Altima legally parked across the street at 11:12 a.m. Thursday.

The Nissan, owned by Marcene A. Cain of Marion, sustained damage to its left front and driver’s side door. Just’s Chevrolet sustained what was described as minor damage to it right rear.

No tickets were issued.

200 block of E. 2nd St.

A large dog identified as a husky ran into and dented the left front fender of 77-year-old Hillsboro resident Daniel B. Dalke’s 2013 Ford F-150 pickup while Dalke was driving at 11:45 a.m. Friday between Lincoln and Washington Sts.

The accident was reported 1½ hours later. A “courtesy” accident report contains no further information about the dog.
