A Hillsboro man charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child will make his first appearance in Marion County District Court on May 1.
The charge against Leslie W. Hopkins, 52, Hillsboro, stems from an alleged Sept. 25 incident involving a 9-year-old.
The charge was filed April 5.
Hopkins has not been jailed on the charge. According to county attorney Courtney Boehm, a subpoena was issued to Hopkins because of the amount of time that has passed since the alleged offense and the fact that the victim no longer lives in the same vicinity as Hopkins.
